Howarths health and safety team to help Hull brewery triple its production levels

Our team of specialists are ready to help your business today

We’re delighted to be working with Hull-based independent brewery, Atom Brewing, to provide ongoing health and safety support as owners Allan Rice and Sarah Thackray look to triple their production levels during 2018.
The brewery, founded in 2014 by beer enthusiasts Allan and Sarah, produces a range of thirty different beers from its 5,800 square foot facility in East Yorkshire, and supplies to around 400 bars across the UK.
As part of plans to grow their business, Allan and Sarah plan to increase the number of units they produce annual production units from 1 million to 2.5 million in this year, and are also on the look-out for a larger premises, with a potential move on the cards soon.
Commenting on the business’s planned growth, Allan said:
“To facilitate our increase in production this year, we need to meet strict health and safety requirements around the introduction of new machinery and brewing techniques that will be used as we grow to expand our range of beers and increase levels of production.
“To help us do this, we have partnered with the Howarths health and safety team, who will support us with on-site health and safety compliance including risk assessments, machinery maintenance checks and all-round safer working practices.”
Our managing director, Gavin, added:
“Food and drink manufacture requires strict levels of health and safety compliance that can be quite complex and time consuming for business owners who just need to get on with their day job.
“Our role now is to work with Allan, Sarah and their team to take the pressure of health and safety compliance off their hands, so they can concentrate solely on brewing great beer and achieving their ambitious growth plans.”
