On the rare occasion that any part of our service does not meet with your expectations, we operate an efficient and effective complaints handling process which is designed to minimise inconvenience to you and to facilitate a speedy resolution. Howarths treats all complaints seriously.
Complaints can be made in writing or in person and should be directed to a Company Director. Any complaints will be investigated by a sufficiently competent person and you will receive an acknowledgement of any complaint and confirmation of who will be handling your concerns within 5 working days. Whilst your compliant is live you will be entitled to contact your complaint handler with any questions that you may have or, if you wish to enquire about the progression of your complaint.
Within 28 working days you will receive a formal response and outcome to your complaint (or 56 days if your complaint is particularly complex or technical). If, for any reason, there is an unavoidable delay in issuing a response to any complainant, we shall inform you and a new deadline issued and agreed.
If you are dissatisfied with the handling of a complaint at any time, you should initially inform your complaint handler, who will then escalate the matter appropriately where necessary.
When you contact our advisory team, you will be assisted by one of our brilliant HR and employment law specialists. Whilst all of our team are suitably qualified and you will receive a great service whoever you speak to, some members of our advisory team are employed solicitors, and they are individually regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (“SRA”).
In the unlikely scenario that you feel that you have not received the level of service you expect, then we want to know so we can continually improve our service. Specifically, and in light of the above SRA regulation, if you feel the service you have received from one of our solicitors falls below the professional standards expected, you are also able to contact the SRA to raise any concerns that you have with them and they will investigate appropriately.

The Solicitors Compensation Scheme is not available in relation to claims brought against our solicitors, but as with all our advisory team, their work is covered as part of our professional indemnity insurance.
