Howarths delivers training for Leeds Community Foundation

Our team of specialists are ready to help your business today

Howarths has worked with the charity to deliver bespoke management training to ten of the organisation’s senior team, covering areas including the definition of a manager, discipline and grievance, and equality in the workplace.
Leeds Community Foundation, which provides grants and funding to charities and voluntary groups Leeds and awarded more than £3.3million in funding between 2017 and 2018, commissioned the training in order to upskill its management team in line with the charity’s recent growth.
The project is the latest in a line of third sector briefs for Howarths, which include the delivery of a culture change project to support the growth of the official charity of Leeds United Football Club, The Leeds United Foundation, and providing employment law and TUPE advice to support the formation of Inspire North, parent company of Leeds based mental health charity, Community Links, earlier this year.
Gavin Howarth, managing director at Howarths, said:
“Our growing portfolio of project work in the third sector means we have a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by charities and the appropriate support required.
“Being asked to deliver management training for Leeds Community Foundation is testament to that understanding, and as advocates of the charity’s work, it has been a privilege to support the team in preparation for further growth and success.”
Kate Hainsworth, CEO at Leeds Community Foundation, added:
“It is testimony to Gavin’s presentation skills and  engaging manner that he kept the whole team thoroughly involved (and entertained!) throughout and made the subject matter (part of which could have been slightly dry in other hands) relevant and interesting.  Our management team members commented to me afterwards how useful and enjoyable the course was and how much they had learned from it.  We’re very pleased we decided to use Howarths when investing in training for our staff and would happily recommend them to anyone with similar training needs.”
