Welcome to the team Anna Schiavetta!
Bringing some Italian flair to Cleckheaton, Anna joins our advisory team as an Employment Law Solicitor with the sole focus of supporting our brilliant and growing SME client base.
Along with the likes of our Head of Employment Law, Charlotte (pictured), Anna brings with her a strong knowledge of employment law as standard, but also as important, an astute commercial awareness having worked inhouse at a large technology and innovation company.
I said it to Anna personally yesterday, but we’re humbled that people the quality of Anna choose to ply their trade at Howarths. It’s been one hell of a journey from my parents front room at home to where we are now, and we’re only just getting started…
Getting to Know Anna:
Can you summarise your career journey to date? What were you doing before you joined Howarths?
I graduated from Northumbria University in July 2017 where I studied the MLaw Exempting Degree, which is a 4 year law degree that integrates a Master’s and the Legal Practice Course. Whilst I was at University, I secured a training contract with The Endeavour Partnership, a commercial law firm based in Teesside, to start in September 2018. During my “year out” I worked as a Legal Assistant in a high street firm in Morpeth!
What attracted you to working at Howarths?
For me, it is the strong family culture and values that attracted me to joining the Howarths team. Particularly, the history of the company and its achievements. The team are also really friendly and supportive.
What do you enjoy most about working in employment law?
It is the reactive nature of employment law that appeals to me. It is a demanding area of law, particularly during these current times. No query or dispute is the same, which keeps me on my toes!
What are you looking forward to most about your role?
I am really looking forward to getting to know Howarths’ clients! I am keen to build upon the relationships and start understanding each clients’ business and their needs.
What quality would you like to become known for at Howarths?
Reliable – I will always do what I say I am going to do!
What are we most likely to find you doing when you’re not at work?
Due to my Italian heritage, you’ll either find me cooking or eating pasta (or talking about pasta!).
What’s your favourite spot in Yorkshire and why?
My favourite spot so far is Roseberry Topping, which is a landmark hill on the skyline of the North Yorkshire Moors. It is a good little hike and the views are incredible.
What one word summarises Howarths as a business?
Proactive.
