Client Update: Sick Notes

The Social Security (Medical Evidence) and Statutory Sick Pay (Medical Evidence) (Amendment) Regulations 2022 come into force on 6 April 2022.
These prescribe a new form of fit note, which will be used alongside the existing version of the form. This removes the requirement for the fit note to be signed in ink and the new form of fit note doesn’t contain a signature box.

Employers will therefore begin to receive the new form of sick note from 6 April 2022 which will not include a wet ink signature.
