November Update from Howarths’ MD, Gavin Howarth

Our team of specialists are ready to help your business today

Another month goes by in a flash as we roll towards Christmas (too early for Mariah Carey on the office radio yet?)

It’s been a busy old month across the whole team here at Howarths – November often is as lots of clients need projects completed before the end of the year.

Delighted to update that having been shortlisted for various awards, we brought home ‘Best Business Services’ at this year’s Family Business Community Awards held at Headingley Stadium. This was a special one for us to be recognised for the team’s excellent level of expertise and customer service.

In our Health and Safety team, we’re busy making sure businesses across the region continue to be compliant with all applicable laws. This month, the team write about how the HSE are ramping up inspections of businesses that use silica, and a tragic case of employee deaths when cleaning out a haulage tank – read more here.

Diversity and Inclusion continues to be a subject matter that all the team at Howarths are embracing wholeheartedly. Our affectionately known ‘DIB committee’ (Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging) worked hard last month to arrange and deliver our ‘Hidden Disabilities Day’ – a fantastic event which raised awareness of many hidden disabilities that people often suffer with in silence. We go from strength to strength with our work in this area, and plans are already afoot for 2023 as we look to discuss baby loss, assisted fertility and all things maternity.

On the client side, we’re delighted to welcome brands such as Northern Ballet, Easigrass Yorkshire Limited and Hillswood Care Limited (to name just a few), to the Howarths community. I can give my word that we continue to work really hard right across the whole business to continuously improve our service and offering. We only exist because of our amazing clients.

Keep doing what you do best. The home stretch to Christmas now.

Gavin Howarth, Managing Director
