The new National Living Wage and National Minimum Wage rates for 2025 are as follows:
- 21 and over: £12.21
- 18 to 20: £10.00
- Under 18: £7.55
- Apprentice: £7.55
Make sure that you are increasing pay to reflect the new rates.

Statutory Sick Pay will increase to £118.75 per week (currently £116.75) from 6 April 2025.
The statutory rates for maternity pay, paternity pay, shared parental pay, adoption pay and parental bereavement pay will increase to £187.18 per week (currently £184.30) from 6 April 2025.
The Government has also increased the Lower Earnings Limit to £125 per week.
Make sure that you adhere to the new statutory rates.
If you are a Real Living Wage employer, and wish to retain your accreditation from the Living Wage Foundation, you must increase pay to £12.60 in UK and £13.85 in London by 1 May.
The new employee right to Neonatal Leave and Pay will also be introduced from 6 April 2025. Working families with babies in neonatal care will receive a day one right to the new form of leave. Alongside the leave entitlement, a new statutory rate for neonatal care pay will be available to those who meet continuity of service requirements and a minimum earnings threshold. Further guidance shall follow on the new legislation including a new policy, in the coming weeks.
