It’s been quite the year for team Howarths when it comes to awards.
After scooping the Family Business of the Year title at the 2018 National Family Business Awards, our winning streak has continued into 2019.
Our work to help people who have experienced addiction and homelessness through our family charity, The Howarth Foundation, is extremely important to the business, and, is our way of using our 15 years of business experience and contacts to give something back to the community we operate in. It was for this reason that in November, we were delighted to be crowned winners of the Community Award at the Huddersfield Examiner Business Awards.
Although we didn’t start our charity to win awards, to be recognised for what the charity has achieved since 2018 (including getting 17 people back into employment!) was truly humbling, and a fitting way to round off a successful year for the Foundation.
We would also like to congratulate The Bling Fling committee and Huddersfield Live who joined us on the shortlist and deliver fantastic work in Huddersfield and beyond.
Cream of the crop in UK business
At the beginning of November we were proud and delighted to be named regional Family Business of the Year 2019 for the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce.
Following this, we were honoured to travel to London’s Tobacco Dock for the British Chamber Business Awards. Our trip to the capital saw us join the cream of the crop of UK businesses for the national finals.
It was a privilege to be shortlisted alongside nine other fantastic family-run businesses in our category and being at the event to celebrate all our achievements gave us even more reason to celebrate a successful year at Howarths.
We didn’t end up bringing the national trophy back from London to Cleckheaton but being the region’s Family Business of the Year is more than enough for us – and we had a wonderful evening.
Being recognised for our commitment to being the best we can be for our clients and team alike is a fantastic accolade and gives us the reassurance that we’re doing it our way and achieving award-winning results.
