Howarths News: Meet our new HR & Employment Law Advisor, Mohammed.

As the team of employment law, HR and health and safety experts at Howarths continues to grow, we’re pleased to welcome Mohammed Balal to the family in his role as HR & Employment Law Advisor. We caught up with Mohammed to find out a bit more about his experience, why he chose Howarths, and what he’s most looking forward to about his new role.
Q. Hi Mohammed. Can you tell us a bit about what you were doing before joining Howarths?
A. I’ve worked in the employment law sector for over two years and specialised in discrimination claims as an employment lawyer. I have the expertise to run a case from start to finish, and I’ve also advocated many tribunal cases in person.
Q. What was it that attracted you to working at Howarths?
A. The core family values of the Howarths were a selling point for me. Howarths also offers a unique service to our  clients in the form of face-to-face meetings, which you don’t find  with many other employment law firms.
Q. What do you enjoy most about working in employment law?
A. I love the fact that every case is unique and I can create new opportunities and learn new skills from each case. The whole employment law environment can be challenging at times and is constantly changing, making it a unique field to work in.
Q. What are you looking forward to most about your role at Howarths?
A. I’m looking forward to meeting new clients and joining a successful team, while having the opportunity to use my skill sets within the business.
Q. What quality would you like to become known for as a member of the Howarths team?
A. I’d like to be known as the life-long leaner; someone who has a passion to learn and is ready for any challenge given to me.
Q. What are we most likely to find you doing when you’re not at work?
A. Spending quality time with family and friends.
Q. What’s your favourite spot in Yorkshire and why?
A. Whitby, with its tumbledown ruins and cliff tops. It’s an utterly atmospheric destination.
