How it all began

After meeting KSDL Managing Director, Gareth, at a networking event, the Howarths team quickly developed a close working relationship with KSDL.

Based at The John Smith’s Stadium (home of Huddersfield Town FC and Huddersfield Giants RFC), the KSDL team are also involved with our charity, The Howarth Foundation, and have provided ongoing training and job opportunities for the charity’s clients.

Ongoing employment law support

The nature of the hospitality industry dictates that KSDL’s staffing levels vary according to demand and seasonality, meaning the team often needs to blend a temporary workforce with its full-time staff at key times of year.

This can be a tricky position to navigate in regards to employment law, and takes more thought when it comes to ensuring the right employment law contracts are in place according to the number of hours a person works and the associated entitlements around areas including holiday pay.

Providing an ongoing consultancy service, our head of employment law, Charlotte, works closely with the KSDL team to provide legal support and define the employment status of staff to ensure all legal obligations are met.

Job Retention Scheme support

More recently, we have worked closely with KSDL to provide specific and tailored advice around the Job Retention Scheme and Job Support Scheme.

Liaising with KSDL’s internal HR lead, we have provided regular updates and support as the situation has continued to evolve, ensuring that KSDL is always one step ahead and armed with the best possible advice.
