How it all began

Moda in Pelle’s founder, Stephen Buck, has been a friend and client of Howarths since the business was founded in 2003.

Appreciative of our family-run, open and honest approach to business, Stephen and the Moda in Pelle team have continued to work with Howarths as the business has grown in size and staff numbers to become a nationally recognised high street footwear brand.

An integral, bolt-on HR department

A long-standing relationship with Moda in Pelle means Howarths has become a vital, bolt-on HR department for the business.

Working on a retained basis, our team continues to work closely alongside Stephen and his senior colleagues to provide strategic HR and employment law advice and act as a sounding board in relation to business decisions relating to the development of the business and its employees.

We are on hand to provide accurate and efficient advice to ensure the best possible result in every situation, and Stephen himself appreciates being able to pick up the phone and receive honest, to-the-point guidance to help make informed business decisions.

Supporting with TUPE and staff performance

New store openings have meant new staff for Moda in Pelle, and Howarths has been there to assist with contracts of employment for a growing team. We have also provided TUPE support to ensure a successful transition of staff between store locations in line with business strategy.
